Srilanka, March 28 -- The Central Environment Authority (CEA) recently introduced an environmentally friendly electric three-wheeler (e-tuk) to collect unused plastic bottles and other plastic items for recycling.

The e-tuk not only collects unused plastic bottles and other plastic items, but also educates the public on the correct way of disposing these items after use.

The programme was launched at Wadduwa in the Kalutara district to coincide with World Recycling Day. CEA Chairman Prof. Thilak Hewawasam, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Director Thamari Senanyake, Eco Spindles MD Prashantha Malimbadage, Vega Innovations official Indunil Palihawadana and Wadduwa Material Recovery facilities official Manjula Perera were present.
