Srilanka, March 27 -- The Central Bank of Sri Lanka urged the public not to regret investing in unregulated investment schemes, including plantations, which are not regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Investment plan schemes such as teak, mango, wallapatta and similar plantation schemes are not regulated or monitored by the CBSL and therefore the CBSL is not accountable for the money invested in such investment plans by people.

CBSL Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe stated that before regretting after making investments in institutions not regulated by the Central Bank, individuals who do so should think carefully about whether these investments are legal or trustworthy.
