Sri Lanka, June 6 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announced that the power outage experienced across several parts of the island this morning (6) was caused by an accident on the Biyagama-Pannipitiya main transmission line.

The disruption led to sudden blackouts in Colombo, Kalutara, and several nearby areas. According to the CEB, the accident affected multiple substations, resulting in widespread power loss.

Restoration efforts were promptly initiated, and CEB teams were deployed to the affected sites. The CEB has confirmed that power supply has now been fully restored in all impacted areas.
