Sri Lanka, Nov. 24 -- Currently, the Castlereigh reservoir is 9 feet below overflow, while the Maussakelle reservoir is 15 feet below.
The rising water levels have enabled electricity generation at the Wimalasurendra, Laxapana, New Laxapana, Canyon, and Polpitiya hydropower stations to operate at maximum capacity, the engineers added.
Meanwhile, the Hatton Devon and Saint Clair waterfalls have also seen increased water flow due to the ongoing rainfall, creating scenic yet potentially hazardous conditions in the area.
