Srilanka, May 14 -- The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, has met with the newly elected Pope Leo XIV following the recent papal election.

Cardinal Ranjith had a warm and cordial conversation with Pope Leo XIV (formerly Robert Prevost), and photos of the meeting were shared on the official social media channels of the Archdiocese of Colombo.

Representing Sri Lanka, Cardinal Ranjith also took part in the papal conclave held after the passing of Pope Francis. After a two-day election process, American-born Robert Prevost, aged 69, was chosen as the 267th Pope and has taken the name Leo XIV.
