Sri Lanka, Dec. 17 -- The Sri Lanka Embassy in China announced that Beijing Capital Airlines will commence direct flights between Beijing and Colombo from 31 January 2026, strengthening air connectivity between Sri Lanka and China.Sri Lanka travel

The announcement followed a meeting between Sri Lanka's Ambassador to China, Majintha Jayesinghe, and Liu Jun, President of Beijing Capital Airlines Co., Ltd., during which the scheduled launch of the new route was discussed.

Officials said the direct flights are expected to enhance inbound and outbound tourism and further promote travel, trade, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
