Sri Lanka, March 20 -- The Government has taken measures to import another stock of 42 million eggs for the festive season, the Government Information Department said.

The Cabinet of Ministers previously granted its consent to import sufficient stocks of eggs to stabilize the market until April 30.

Accordingly, 18 million eggs have already been imported and approval has also been granted to import another 42 million eggs and prices have been collected from Indian institutions recommended by the Animal Production and Health Department to import this amount.
