Sri Lanka, Nov. 7 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, is set to present the National People's Power (NPP) government's second budget to Parliament this afternoon (07). The 2026 Budget proposal has already received full Cabinet approval.
The President's budget speech, scheduled to begin at 1.30 p.m., is expected to outline key fiscal priorities and chart the economic direction for the coming year. The government's total estimated expenditure for 2026 stands at Rs. 4,434 billion, with the highest allocation of Rs. 634 billion going to the Ministry of Finance.
