Sri Lanka, Jan. 20 -- To improve the living standards of plantation workers, the Cabinet has approved a daily attendance incentive of Rs. 200, in addition to raising the minimum daily wage to Rs. 1,550.
Allocated Rs. 5 billion in the 2026 budget, this incentive will be paid through plantation companies for the first six months of 2026, after which it will be deposited directly into workers' bank accounts.
