Srilanka, June 3 -- In a move to modernize Sri Lanka's public transportation system, the Cabinet has approved a pilot project to introduce 100 metro buses under the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB). This initiative aims to enhance commuter convenience, reduce traffic congestion, and promote more efficient and eco-friendly urban mobility.

The metro bus service will serve as a model for future upgrades to the country's transport infrastructure, aligning with the government's broader goals of improving public services and reducing the nation's carbon footprint.
