Srilanka, April 29 -- The Cabinet has approved the implementation of a comprehensive economic census to be conducted in 2025 and 2026.
The Department of Census and Statistics last carried out an economic census in 2013/14. The upcoming census aims to update and expand upon that data, capturing both agricultural and non-agricultural economic activities.
The survey will be conducted in two phases, with each phase focusing separately on the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors to ensure detailed and accurate economic profiling.
