Srilanka, Feb. 25 -- The Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Colombo Port City Development Project plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between the Government of Sri Lanka and CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, overseeing project monitoring, resolving issues, and coordinating utility services.

The second phase of the project is scheduled for completion by June 2027, necessitating the continuation of the PMU's monitoring and coordination efforts.

Following a proposal from the President, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, the Cabinet has approved an extension of the PMU's operational period until June 5, 2027.
