Sri Lanka, Dec. 1 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) urges the public to remain calm and refrain from unnecessary hoarding of goods during the ongoing disaster situation.

The Authority emphasized that excessive stockpiling is unwarranted and advised consumers to purchase only the quantities they genuinely need.

The CAA has also instructed supermarkets and traders to issue essential items in an orderly manner and ensure fair distribution.

Traders have been further requested to support national efforts by maintaining current market prices and selling goods at reasonable rates.

The Authority warned that islandwide special raids will be conducted to identify those violating pricing and distribution regulations.
