Sri Lanka, April 4 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued an extraordinary gazette notification setting maximum retail prices for bottled drinking water, effective from April 1.
According to the notification, the following price limits have been established for various bottle sizes:
Rs. 70 for bottles between 500 and 999 milliliters
Rs. 100 for bottles between 1 and 1,499 milliliters
Rs. 130 for bottles between 1.5 and 1,999 liters
Rs. 160 for bottles between 2 and 2,499 liters
Rs. 350 for bottles between 5 and 6,999 liters
These measures aim to regulate the pricing of bottled water across the market.
