Sri Lanka, Feb. 7 -- Buwaneka Goonatilleka, Ranithma Liyanage, the two National champions, Lochana de Silva and Viren Nettasinghe won their respective first round matches of the main draw at Li Ning Sri Lanka Challenge International Badminton Tournament which is in progress at Dadella Sports Complex in Galle.
After qualifying round top shuttlers competed at the main draw yesterday. Sri Lanka number one men's shuttler Buwaneka Goonatilleka defeated Reshan Dimbukkulage in straight sets 21/7, 23 /21 to enter the second round.
Ranithma Liyanage the 17-year-old National women's number one player defeated Indian shuttler Prasansa Bonam in two straight sets 21/12, 21/18. Lochana de Silva beat Malaysian King Kien Hwa in two sets 21/18, 22/20.
