Srilanka, March 26 -- Issuing tickets to passengers travelling on private buses will be made mandatory from April 1 onwards, according to the Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority.

Authority Chairman Commander (rtd) Gamuni Jasinghe said that issuing tickets to passengers will be compulsory on all buses under the Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority.

Jasinghe emphasised that passengers have the right to request a ticket if a bus conductor fails to issue one. He also urged passengers to report such incidents by contacting him directly at 0707- 625525. Additionally, complaints can be lodged through the helpline 011-2860860.
