Srilanka, April 10 -- The National Transport Commission has announced that seat reservations for passenger buses during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year period have been temporarily suspended until April 21.
This decision was made due to the high volume of passengers utilizing bus services during the festive season.
Additionally, the Commission emphasized that all buses must operate strictly along the routes specified in their passenger service permits. It is also mandatory to assign a replacement driver if the primary driver's service time exceeds 14 hours.
Furthermore, the use of licensed passenger buses for special or private trips during the New Year period has been strictly prohibited.
