Sri lanka, July 21 -- The Bribery Commission has received a total of 2,138 complaints this year so far and 44 raids have been conducted. From the raids, 31 suspects have also been arrested.A total of 42 Court cases have been filed in connection with these incidents, comprising 26 bribery cases, 13 corruption cases, and three cases related to the illegal acquisition of assets. A total of 45 individuals have been named as defendants.
Between January and May 31, 29 cases were concluded. As of May 31, 249 cases were pending before the High Court, 22 cases in Magistrates' Courts, and one case was being heard before a Special Three-Judge High Court Bench.
