Srilanka, May 20 -- The Bribery Commission has filed an indictment against former Minister Chandrani Bandara at the Colombo High Court for unlawfully appointing H.M. Chandrawansa as Project Director of the Ministry of Dry Zone Development during her tenure as Minister of Women and Child Affairs and Dry Zone Development.
In addition to this, the Commission has charged her with allegedly influencing a group of friends to secure various positions through illegal appointments, bypassing proper procedures and regulations.
The case marks a significant step in ongoing efforts to address corruption and uphold transparency within government appointments.
