Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- An aircraft arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) from Doha yesterday morning was subjected to a special search following a bomb threat email received by the airport manager.

The airport officer in charge at the BIA said that after a thorough search, officials had declared that the alert was a hoax. There were 245 passengers and 12 crew members on board the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Before the aircraft landed, the airport manager had received an email that there were bombs on board this aircraft.

The aircraft landed at the BIA at 08.27 am yesterday.
