Sri Lanka, March 1 -- Siri Kahawala is a gentleman who strived to bridge the gap between film personalities and filmgoers. While actively engaging in the golden era of Sri Lankan cinema as a film journalist, scriptwriter, and dialogue writer, he also worked to harness the existing talent within the industry.

However, Siri Kahawala was not a name marketed by others, nor by the man himself. A cinemagoer would only see Kahawala's name in the opening credits of a movie. Yet, for decades, he silently added immense value to the local cinema scene in numerous ways.
