Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- The Supreme Court yesterday set March 25 for the hearing of a Fundamental Rights petition filed by MP Rishad Bathiudeen, challenging his arrest and detention in 2021.
Bathiudeen was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
When the case was called before a three-judge Bench comprising Justices Shiran Gooneratne, Achala Wengappuli and Priyantha Fernando, Court scheduled the petition to be supported on March 25.
Petitioner Bathiudeen had named the Inspector General, the CID Director, DIG in charge of the CID, the Attorney General and several others as respondents.
