Srilanka, April 29 -- The Batalanda Commission Report has been officially handed over to the Attorney General.

The report, which investigates alleged human rights violations and unlawful detentions at the Batalanda Detention Centre during the late 1980s and early 1990s, was compiled following inquiries conducted by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry.

Further legal action or review by the Attorney General's Department is expected, based on the contents and recommendations of the report.

More details are expected to follow as the Attorney General reviews the findings.
