Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- Construction work on the Bailey Bridge along the Badulla-Spring Valley road has reached its final stage, Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, Samantha Vidyaratna, said yesterday (28).

"The construction of the Bailey Bridge on the Badulla-Spring Valley road is now in its final stage, and steps are being taken to complete the remaining work as soon as possible to restore normal transport services to the people," he added.

The temporary bridge is being built as an alternative after the original bridge in the Spring Valley area was severely damaged and destroyed during the recent disaster.
