Srilanka, March 31 -- A person who had purchased tickets for the Udarata Menike train, which runs from Colombo to Badulla, online for Rs.1,200 and sold them to foreign tourists for Rs.13,000 has been arrested by Kandy Railway Station security officers and handed over to the police.
The Police say the suspect had been engaged in the racket for a long period of time.
The Railways Department states that the person arrested on suspicion has booked train tickets 92 times over the past five months using his own identity card and that in addition, he has also used the identity card numbers of other people to carry out this racket.
