Sri Lanka, April 2 -- Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said in Parliament on Monday (1) that the regulations under the Ayurvedic Act presented to Parliament on March 19 would be helpful for the promotion of scientific testing of indigenous medicine products globally.

The Minister said that the Ayurveda Act will be amended after 62 years and as there is a high demand for indigenous medicine and Ayurveda, it has been identified as a major foreign exchange earning sector in Sri Lanka.

The Minister said this while joining the debate on the amendment of the Ayurveda Act.
