Sri Lanka, Jan. 14 -- The Colombo High Court has issued an arrest warrant against former Minister Wimal Weerawansa for failing to appear in court in a case filed by the Bribery Commission.
The case involves allegations that Weerawansa unlawfully acquired assets valued at over Rs. 75 million.
Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal ordered that the former minister be arrested and produced before the court.
The judge also directed that notices be served to the bail signatories of the defendant, requiring them to appear in court at the next scheduled hearing.
