Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- A suspect who had kept a T-56 Automatic Rifle with a magazine which containing 29 live cartridges in his possession, was taken under the custody by the officers attached to the Batapola police station yesterday. According to the police media, the suspect was further identified as "Nipuna Chathuranga", a 31-year-old, who is currently serving to the Engineering Corps of the Army Camp in Malayaadi in Jaffna Peninsula. The police stated that the suspect had been traveling on a motorcycle when the arrest was made in Dali Watte area in Kahatapitiya, Batapola police division.It has been further revealed that the said suspect is a lance corporal, who is a resident in Galle.The suspect was produced before the Magistrate Court...
