Sri Lanka, March 6 -- The Army is a place where heroes are born, and this is the time that the country requires heroes, said Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR ) Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana on Sunday.

He was addressing a ceremony held at the VIR in Kurunegala on Sunday to commemorate 3,037 VIR War Heroes. Heroes cannot be delivered by giving an order or by force. It happens automatically with their bravery and commitment, said the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Colonel of VIR.
