Sri Lanka, May 3 -- The Sri Lanka Army yesterday handed over a stock of gold and silver to the police which had been held by the LTTE and later recovered by the army personnel during the war.

Sri Lanka army said that these gold and silver items have been recovered from the LTTE camps during the operation launched by the Security Forces to liberate the areas held by the terrorists. This stock was handed over to the Police at the Sri Lanka Army headquarters yesterday.

Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya said these gold and silver items will be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigations.
