Sri Lanka, Nov. 24 -- Troops of the Third Volunteer Battalion of the Gemunu Watch (3 (V) GW), serving under the Army 613 Infantry Brigade, launched an immediate relief operation to assist the public following the inundation of the Akuressa - Siyambalagoda Road in the Panasugama area, on Saturday (22).

A stretch of approximately 200 metres of the road remained submerged under nearly three feet of water, severely disrupting vehicular movement in the area.
