Srilanka, Feb. 24 -- A 28-year-old Modara resident has been arrested for masterminding the murder of Shashi Kumar, the owner of a mobile phone accessories shop in Kotahena. According to the Colombo North Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau, the suspect not only planned the killing but also supplied the firearm and ammunition used in the crime.

On the night of the 21st, two individuals on a motorbike broke into the shop on Kotahena Street and fatally shot Kumar, a 38-year-old resident of Colombo 14, before fleeing the scene. Authorities revealed that the arrested suspect arranged for the shooter-transporting him from the Colombo Fort area to his wife's residence in the Kosgashandiya area-to execute the hit.
