Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The government has declared April 26, a National Day of Mourning in Sri Lanka, coinciding with the funeral of His Holiness Pope Francis, who passed away recently.

In light of this observance, the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government has issued a directive instructing all government institutions to fly the national flag at half-mast on that day.

The notice has been sent to ministry secretaries and heads of government offices across the country.
