Sri Lanka, Jan. 5 -- Attention has been drawn to the construction of special housing projects for residents living in areas which are frequently damaged by floods in Anuradhapura.

Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe instructed the Divisional Secretaries to take the necessary steps to conduct proper assessments and select suitable sites for this purpose.

This was stated at a discussion held at the Anuradhapura District Secretariat recently to inquire about the progress of providing relief to the people of Anuradhapura affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
