Sri Lanka, Dec. 8 -- During an operation carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy in the Ippanthivu sea area of Kalpitiya on Friday night (December 5), Naval personnel intercepted a dinghy carrying three sacks suspected to contain narcotics, as well as another dinghy that had arrived to assist it, with four suspects.
The Police Narcotic Bureau conducted an examination of the three sacks suspected to contain narcotics on Saturday (December 6). The analysis confirmed the seizure of more than 63kg of crystal methamphetamine ('Ice') and over 14kg of heroin. A media briefing regarding the operation was held at the Police Narcotic Bureau, attended by Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda and Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya....
