Angampora: Reviving an ancient martial art
Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- Precision hand strikes coupled with swift foot movements and defiant chants are all part of an ancient combat tradition of Sri Lanka. Over the past decade, there has been a steady rise and great interest in the form of fighting known as Angampora. It is a lifestyle that was part of our rich heritage for centuries. Its robust adherents displayed a lifetime of fidelity to this martial art that incorporated combat strikes, meditation, ayurvedha and a respectful bonding with ones teacher (guru).
