An eye-opener for all
Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The election campaigns went into low gear this week with fears of a resurgence of COVID-19 following the detection of Kandakadu cluster.
Health authorities together with the Security Forces and all other stakeholders sprang into action and synergized their efforts in tracing, quarantining and testing the close associates of the patients, which was no doubt an uphill task.
The sudden spike in the number of patients infected with this highly contagious virus was an important wakeup call for the political parties and candidates, who had been taking the health guidelines lightly during electioneering over the past few weeks.
