Srilanka, May 5 -- Election Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Ratnayake yesterday said all preparations have been made for the Local Government Election on Tuesday and after voting ends vote counting will take place at ward level, with most wards having one polling station and a few larger ones having multiple.

Each voter will receive one ballot paper showing only party names, symbols and independent group details. Voters must mark one (X) in the box next to their chosen party or group and no other marks are allowed.

Results will be compiled at district offices after being verified and approved by the Commission. Voting will be held on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to elect members for 339 Local Government bodies across the country. A total of...
