Srilanka, April 2 -- Former MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has been reappointed as the Vice President of the United National Party (UNP).
The appointment was made during the party's executive committee meeting held at the UNP headquarters in Sirikotha on April 1st.
In addition, the committee approved the nominations for the upcoming local government elections.
Detailed discussions were also held on the measures to be taken for the elections.
