Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- An aircraft carrying five alleged underworld figures, including notorious crime leader Kehelbaddara Padme, has taken off from Jakarta, Indonesia, and is heading for Colombo, Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala confirmed.

The suspects were among six individuals arrested on August 28 in Jakarta during joint operations conducted by Indonesian authorities with the assistance of Sri Lankan law enforcement. They include the leaders of three major organized crime gangs linked to drug trafficking and contract killings in Sri Lanka.
