Sri Lanka, Jan. 31 -- The National Buildings Organization has confirmed that air pollution levels in several areas, including Colombo, have returned to normal.

According to Sarath Premasiri, Director of the organization's Environment Division, similar air quality fluctuations have been observed in past years during the North-East monsoon season.

As per Sri Lanka's Air Quality Index, pollution levels in some areas have dropped below 50, while others still range between 50 and 100. However, Premasiri assured that the overall situation has now stabilized.

He further noted that such temporary increases in air pollution have been a recurring phenomenon during the North-East monsoon season in recent years.
