Srilanka, Feb. 25 -- A Bell 412 helicopter from the Sri Lanka Air Force's No. 4 Squadron was deployed to combat a sudden fire that broke out in the Nallathanniya Valamale Upper Forest Reserve in the Nuwara Eliya District.

The helicopter, equipped with a "Bambi Bucket," a specialized tool for fire suppression, was sent following a request from the Ministry of Disaster Management, under the direction of the Ministry of Defence.

On the evening of February 24, the helicopter successfully extinguished the fire by making 10 water drops from the Maussa Kele Reservoir, the nearest water source.
