Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Showers or thundershowers are expected in several areas across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Polonnaruwa districts during the afternoon or night.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is likely in some of these areas.

A few light showers are also possible in the morning along the coastal areas of the Western Province and in the Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts.

Elsewhere across the island, mainly fair weather conditions are anticipated.

Additionally, misty conditions can be expected in the morning in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-Central, and Uva provinces.
