Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- According to the lead news item in our sister newspaper the Sunday Observer yesterday, the Health Ministry assures that essential medicines and medical products will be available without interruption in Government hospitals from 2026, following new procurement orders placed by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) under strengthened regulatory protocols.

The newspaper quoted senior officials as saying that the measures are designed to invigorate the national drug supply chain, prevent shortages and ensure that medicines supplied to Government hospitals meet the requisite quality and safety standards.
