Srilanka, June 5 -- The Government has designed a special programme and has taken several actions to prevent ragging taking place in the Higher Education institutions including universities.
Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said the Government has understood that university ragging can no longer be considered as mere traditional harmless ragging that takes place only in the first year batch but is much broader going beyond the first year students, deeper and brutal with violence involved that must be eradicated at all costs.
