Sri Lanka, April 26 -- In response to the call for application to the Colleges of Education, it is significant that it has received around 60,000 applications to enter Sri Lanka Teacher Service.

Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said that around 60,000 applications were received for new admissions to Colleges of Education. Accordingly, the relevant admission activities will be initiated next week.

The Minister further said that unlike the past, the Colleges of Education offer degrees instead of the Teacher Diploma to students.

Under this, an amount of 4,160 individuals is set to graduate from the Colleges of Education in the near future.
