Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- Bloemendhal Police has seized 33,000 kilograms of turmeric and 3,000 kilograms of Oried illegally imported into the country and smuggled out of Customs.

The Police Media Division stated that the stocks of Turmeric and Oried were found in three container trucks. The importers had cleared the containers declaring that it was glass.

Police said that 10 suspects were arrested in connection with the detection of the illegally imported stock of turmeric while the three container trucks had been seized by the Bloemendhal Police.
