Sri Lanka, April 26 -- Justice Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakse told Parliament on Wednesday that the new incinerator built in Wanathawilluwa area to destroy the seized illegal narcotics produced before Courts will be opened next month.

Accordingly, 300 kg of narcotics produced before Courts will be destroyed on the first day.

The Minister said this while presenting the regulations under the Poisons, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance for approval in Parliament.

We wanted to identify a place to install this incinerator without causing any harm to the environment and the public. Therefore, a bare land belonging to the Wanathawilluwa Police was selected and the new incinerator was set up there at a cost of Rs.18 million.
