Srilanka, Feb. 27 -- The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court today (27) that 24 million rupees (245 million) has been paid to the victims of the Easter Sunday attacks, in accordance with the decisions made regarding the fundamental rights petitions related to the failure to prevent the attacks.
The compensation was paid using the funds collected as a result of the court rulings on these petitions. The Attorney General's office confirmed that a total of 240 million rupees was distributed to individuals who were affected by the attack.
This information was presented in court today during a hearing before a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, consisting of Justices Murdu Pranandu, S. Thureiraja, and H.M.D. Nawaz.
