Sri Lanka, Nov. 20 -- The Southern Provincial segment of the government's 'Ratam Ekata' National Campaign against drugs will be launched today (20) at 3:00 pm at the Tangalle Public Stadium, under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The campaign aims to combat the growing menace of drugs and drug trafficking, which threaten the lives of the nation's youth and schoolchildren.
It will be implemented through a broad, participatory mechanism designed to curb both the supply and demand for drugs.
The programme will involve schools, universities, police, tri-forces, divisional secretariats, local government bodies, and other government institutions.
